Job Purpose

To provide support to the Operations Team in ensuring all BAU tasks are completed in a timely manner as well as helping to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency savings.

Supporting the processing of all trade and settlement related activities including:

  • Facilitation of all trades and transactions including supporting execution and booking.
  • Dealing with trade reconciliation, checking, matching and settlement queries.
  • Instructing and monitoring client cash deposits and withdrawals.
  • Communicating, compiling, and instructing corporate actions.
  • Processing private, pre IPO and IPO placings, both internal and external, including:
  • Checking 100% completion and Compliance by Front Office.
  • Checking Credit Limits.
  • Sending Client Allocations and issuer/IB Confirmations.
  • Booking to the custodian.
  • Monitoring settlement and final cash movement.
Core Responsibilities
  • Dealing proactively with client and custodian general queries and issues.
  • Processing the transfer of securities in and out of the client account.
  • Assist in the improvement of operational systems, processes, procedures and policies and recommending any appropriate changes.
  • Completing tasks and projects as delegated by your line manager.

Though this role is predominantly within Settlements, you will be required to support other teams within the Operational department, including Onboarding, particularly during busy periods and to cover annual leave.

Onboarding Duties include:

  • Inputting and processing new client applications and creating new client records on our system.
  • Ensure all account opening paperwork is prepared and processed to the required standards.
  • Monitoring the progress of all Onboarding cases.
  • Conducting appropriate ID&V and PEP’s & Sanctions checks.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders to keep the appraised of progress.
Personal Specification Essential
  • Experience working within an Operations or Settlements environment.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the equity trade life-cycle.
  • Experience dealing with client and counterparty enquiries over the phone and via e mail.
  • Experience using an Order Management System for updating client records and booking orders.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritise work within tight and changeable timeframes.
  • Good spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to follow through on all aspects of workflows.
Personal Specification Desirable
  • Experience working for a Stockbrokers in a back office role.
  • Experience of working with a Model B Settlement Agent and the JHC Figaro System.
  • Experience of IRESS, XPlan, Proquote Trader/Market Data.
  • Experience using 3rd party ID&V and sanctions systems.
  • Demonstrate your commitment to the industry by having started to undertake some professional development.
